All About Zig

Zig is a privately held software company committed to solving difficult problems with simple software.  Based in North Carolina, USA, our goal is to make your life a lot easier with just the right amount of software.

What’s the right amount?  Well not too little and not too much, of course.  :)  Zig seeks to build solutions that do just enough to solve your problem in the simplest way possible and then get right out of your way.

Formed in 2001 by software industry veteran Jamie Gaines, Zig’s original focus was on building custom solutions for Fortune 500 clients such as Dell Computers and Cox Communications.  That all changed in 2006 with the release of Zig’s first product, LicketyTrip.

Created to solve the problem of finding a last minute vacation rental deal without slogging through tons of irrelevant listings, LicketyTrip was immediately embraced by the online travel community.  Now in its third year of operation, the site helps match last minute travelers with unique worldwide vacation experiences every day.

In the fall of 2008, Zig will release its second product, PhotoCannon.  PhotoCannon solves the problem of emailing a large number of pictures at once.  If you’ve ever been on a trip with friends or had a new baby in the family, you know what a challenge it can be to share all the pictures you’ve taken with everybody.  You can only attach so many pictures to an email and copying images to a CD or jump drive and mailing them can get expensive fast.  PhotoCannon will take all the hassle out of sharing your precious memories with friends and family.

Zig creates and supports its products from our offices in beautiful Summerfield, North Carolina in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains.  We like long walks on the beach when we can make it there and our sign is Aires.  Our productivity is enhanced daily by the support of great friends, family, and two obnoxious guniea pigs.
